Why hide them, pre-checked below the submit button? that's shady, everyone has agreed on that... so why don't you make them legit? Put them above the submit button, UNCHECKED, or give an extra page after they sign up saying "hey, check this shit out also, wanna try it out?" so they can choose if they want it or not.?
How I see pre-checked cross sales as like this, you're at the grocery store, buying some baked beans and hot dogs for supper, because you can't afford anything else, damn economy! Anyway... as you're checking out, while you're not looking, the cashier throws in $30+ extra stuff onto your bill and into your bags... oh shit, you just got charged and didn't know, because they were sneaky about it, and just wanted to make extra bucks off you!
Would you like that? Because if ya do, I have no problem following people around and sneaky like throwing shit into their carts so they can pay extra for shit they didn't want in the first place...
