Not sure where you're getting that 7-12 point lead from...Carter's lead going into the last debate was practically within the margin of error...I can't find the exact numbers but I know it has been described as tiny.

Don't think that Obama and his staff are dumb enough not to realize the parallels between these two elections. They've realized that they are on the right side of history. That's why they have chosen to attach McCain to George Bush and the failing economy. The most telling sign is Obama and his surrogates flipping Ronald Reagans famous line "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?" to "Are you better off now than you were eight years ago in the Clinton administration?" Anyone whose studied the elections of the past knows that line put the nail in the Carter coffin.
Obama is actually saying " Are you better off now than you were 4 weeks ago"

On the Mccain economic speech today, Obama says " A day late and 101-million middle class families short"

on the market crisis " Your 401K is looking like a 101k , now"


The one liners are getting better
