Theres a pitbull outside our front door right now

it doesnt seem aggressive at all.. in fact, when you go to the door its wimpering and scratching at the front door and cries even louder when we leave, it really wants to come inside

we called the police to ask what to do and they said they couldnt do anything until the morning

any idea if this dog is dangerous? everything you read about pitbulls contradicts each other, some sites say their either homicidal maniac dogs or no more dangerous than a golden retriever.

Don't give him food unless you want him to hang around..

Besides, all pitbulls aren't vicious man eating monsters..

Just ignore it and it will go away..! Would you hang around a place were no one gave a shit about you?

if it was agressive it would be chasing cats/brids/squirrels all over the neighborhood, if it wasnt aggressive it would still be doing that cause thats what they do, he sounds injured (hit by a car?). give the fucker a snack.

I?m a softy when it comes to dogs? I would feed it and give it some ice water. If you have other animals though it may get aggressive at their smell (just a warning). My uncle has a elder pitbull that is mean as fuck (her name is Girlie lmao), she?ll only let two people get near her, him and this other guy that feeds her on the weekends. Anybody else she?ll chomp down on faster than you can say ?Wow, the internet sure is full of some amazing things. I love this internet, I?ll have to check out the other one that George Bush was talking about prior to the 2k4 election when he referred to the internets. If this internet is this fucking fantastic, I can?t wait to try out the other one?.

As far if the dogs are 'bad' Not necessarily worse than other dogs. HOWEVER, when this dog bites, you will have SERIOUS issues...That is the main difference...Maybe have him sleep in the garage or something?

It all depend how you take care of them basicly... if you hit him, he mioght become very dangerous. They can be good family dogs too.

Ive got a pit, he is the sweetest dog I have ever had, I let the neighborhood kids play with him without hesitation. Pits have a bad rep but that doesnt mean they are all bad, if he is at your door and not growling at you in your own house, your probably safe. Give him some water, some food and a little love, he will be your loyalist friend for life.

I have no siggy and I want no siggy.. damn no I have one again!

All dogs are different. But as for pits there is a higher chance that he could hurt you. But they are usually challenged in some way or another. If you are worried about getting hurt, slip a benadryl or two into some beef, and slip it out the door. He will pass out, and then still be asleep in the AM.

didnt check GFY til now and saw this thread still up

we didnt have any food for the dog but we gave it some water and let it stay in the garage, it didnt really drink much so I'm guessing his real home wasnt too far off otherwise he would have drank more..

he was gone before we woke up

I did a lot of reading though on pitbulls and the more I read the more I wanted one, their more aggressive towards other dogs but can be trained not to be, and you're just as likely to be mualed by a pitbull as you are to get mualed by a german sheperd or golden retriever.

I wish we could have done more for it, hopefully it found its home.

we just moved here a few weeks ago, so we dont know anybody.. and the dog came around here last night around 3am, only reason he came to our house was because we were the only house with the lights on
