i told my family if i ever have a coma or something and it doesn't look like im gonna come out, to pull the plug, i don't wanna live like that, and i don't wanna leave them with HUGE doctor bills

If this guy can reach a state of communication he's got some story to tell. He writes a book he'll make some great dough. Actually the parents' story is worthy of accolade. How many of you would have stuck it through? How many of you have loved ones that would stick it through for you?

The parents should be given the Congressional Medal of Honor.

According to the story he has amnesia of the past 19 years but recalls his life prior to his accident. What science has to look at is why it took so long for the nerves to regrow new pathways when they should have done so faster. Perhaps in future cases stem cells can be introduced to the damaged nerve network to speed and repair the process.
