I had the misfortune to run into a protest on Saturday that really pissed me off. I have no problem with people having insane beliefs and voicing their opinion. But, this one just made me angry. About 40 people from the "9-11 Truth Squad" were marching down my street with bullhorns yelling "What do we want? TRUTH! When do we want it? NOW"
Very original, right?
I was walking my dogs past them when this chant broke out & my smartass could not be contained. I said "You want the truth?" (I resisted the urge to go all Jack Nicholson and yell YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH") so I just said "The truth is, you are all nuts. " They kept chanting and one person gave me a snotty face & the middle finger. That made me laugh.
They proceeded down to street to protest in front of the fire station.
THAT is what really pissed me off. I have lived there for 10 years and know most of the firefighters. They hold a memorial every year on 9-11 for their fallen brothers. I knew one of the firefighters who died and these "9-11 truthers" are out there ranting about some conspiracy theory BS....what total assholes.
Luckily, the police had told the fire dept. when to expect them so the doors were closed and most of them were out of the firehouse.
