The other day there was a group of church people hanging outside our local supermarket complex handing out flyers about their church. I watched one guy corner a kid that must have been no older than 10 and give him the 'you are going to hell if you aren't with us' conversation. He had NO PLACE having that conversation with a child without permission from his parents. By rating the film G despite conversations in the film that would be PG in any other case they are wanting the film to act in the same way that man did - to catch kids without their parents.Comment

Here is what "PG" really means:
"PG:"Parental Guidance Suggested. Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children."
This is a film which clearly needs to be examined or inquired into by parents before they let their children attend. The label PG plainly states that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, but the parent must make the decision.
Parents are warned against sending their children, unseen and without inquiry, to PG-rated movies.
The theme of a PG-rated film may itself call for parental guidance. There may be some profanity in these films. There may be some violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated film.
The PG rating, suggesting parental guidance, is thus an alert for examination of a film by parents before deciding on its viewing by their children.
Obviously such a line is difficult to draw. In our pluralistic society it is not easy to make judgments without incurring some disagreement. So long as parents know they must exercise parental responsibility, the rating serves as a meaningful guide and as a warning."
Maybe some in congress are upset that the MPAA decided to self-label movies before they got to impose mandatory labeling laws? Who knows. Maybe they're just morons who don't realise that labels are meant for parents. To give parents the ability to judge for themselves. Maybe they feel that parents arent capable of parenting anymore.

Well, I am bi and I don't have anything in particular against Christians but I do have something against those -of whatever religion - what to discriminate based on sexuality. I will tell you this - I did not make the choice to be bi. Did you make the choice to be straight? I know it is simplistic but that really is what it comes down to.
I don't like bigots wether they be gay, straight, christian, jewish or anything else. I also don't like it when somebody makes a point of over and over again pointing out that I can't possibly know that I didn't have a choice. I for certain know that I could make the choice never to act on those feelings but that is using the assumption that those feelings are wrong or evil.
So what if being gay is 'hard coded' or not? Why should it being either way allow for discrimination or bashing and why the heck is equality a special right?Comment
