If it was just one thread spacedog...we all make stupid mistakes sometimes but over and over again your proven us to be a total joke. The biggest joke on this board. About 1/3 of all threads you start end up in serious self ownage and 3 pages of people laughing at you and your never ending stupidity. Want me to bump a few? I know where you're coming from, I just don't think it will have that much of an effect. It's a small percent of the population that is oblivious to what search engine they are using. MSN search was put into every download of IE7 and that didn't help its market share overall.Well, true that people aren't going to see astronomical changes in search volume, but from where I'm looking at this, those people searching via msn or live.com are potentially NEW users that are not savvy in finding free porn, thus increasing your sales potential.
When you think about it.. take Joe Schmoe who's been around for awhile.. say he get's a new PC because he needs one, but he's not going to change his habits, he'll keep using google, maybe even opt to downgrade to IE because maybe he don't like VISTA.. ok..
Next we have Joe Blow.. he's a newb.. got himself a new pc.. learns to use VISTA.. uses the built in search.. finds some porn.. he don't know how to get it free.. he becomes a member,,
Oh & btw Dutch Twink Franck.. you know jack
Keep running your mouth twinkie because that's all you are, is a mouthy troll
On paper it would look like Vista would be great news for MSN, but you have to factor in that most new computers have a deal with Google to make them their start page. I just bought a new Dell this past week and the homepage was preloaded to Google. Some ISPs like SBC preload Yahoo! already. If someone prefers Firefox, they're given the Google toolbar built in. There are just too many places out there that will find its way into the search path of an unsuspecting user.
But the biggest problem they have is they aren't a search destination. When you ask a novice about search engines, they'll say Google, Yahoo!, Ask, etc. Not many will say MSN search. They have no brand when it comes to it. Not to mention they don't have a good search engine at all. So until they can brand Live better, I don't see this being much more than a 1-2% marketshare increase (which they'll eventually lose after users become more savvy).Comment

There are definitely some changes on the horizon. I have noticed some interesting trends coming form MSN over the last quarter. There has been some rumors over the last year and a half that suggest that MSN and Yahoo have been working on a collaboration. I am not sure if that is happening but it would appear that MSN is getting ready to make some major moves.
If you look at their new image index you can see that they have some strong kung fu. Their image index blows Google out of the water and if their new search technology follows suit they will capture a huge share of the search market.
Honestly it is about time for a shake-up in the search engine field. Google has help the lion's share for quite a long time and I agree that with Vista the average Joe surfer will take the path of least resistance and that path will lead to more traffic and more growth for live.com. Speaking of resistance, look for a huge Anti-trust battle between Google and Microsoft over Vista. Shipping a new product that results in a largely negative impact on a monolith like Google will cause some hair to fly.
With any major change in search engine technology there comes a change in SEO techniques. Does any one remember the Google of a few years back? How about the scramble to adjust the the changes?
My point here is that with time ALL search methods will change and with them the strategies and techniques associated with being productive will change. I remember a day when SEO meant stuffing as many keywords as you possibly could into any place on the page but that changed and with it SEO changed. As long as we are talking about new and interesting search technologies I might as well mention what I think is the new wave of site optimization. I am sure that I will get lambasted for SPAMMING by those of you who have forgotten that this is an industry board and not a social network. If you are one of those people please stop reading this post right now. I do not want to take away from your "play time". Now, the rest of you that would actually like to learn something that will earn you money and keep you competitive in the changing face of search technology keep reading.
First, let me preface by saying that this is not my program. I was fortunate enough to be invited to a tele-conference a few nights ago by one of the best mainstream affiliate aggregations companies and after the call I emailed, Colin the author of this program and asked him a few questions. He immediately called me at home and we had an hour-long conversation about things that I have been doing wrong for a very log time. I would venture to guess that most of you are doing the same things and while I have yet to digest all of the information I assure you that if you pass this opportunity by it will cost you thousands of dollars.
You see the interesting thing about Colin is that like most of us he learned by making mistakes and often getting ?slapped? by Google and watching his rankings fall like a lead balloon or worse disappear completely. He told me that once he stopped chasing the different ?holes? in the Google algorithm and adopted a much more holistic philosophy about search engine marketing that not only did his rankings improve but he was no longer worried about the effects of the next update. He said (and demonstrated) that his methods higher and more stable SERPs than he was ever getting before with exploiting holes in the algorithm. This kind of stability gives you profits and positioning better than anything that you could buy. Now, his methods are not just based on his own experiences but on extended communication with Matt Cutts.
I am not going to say anymore about this except to say that if you see the potential that is glaring in your face with the introduction of MSN?s new technology then you will want to read his report.

If you take a moment and stop...long enough to get past the presentation there really is a wealth of information in that book.
Colin also has a money back guarantee and I know that he is good for it.

The way I see it, MSN traffic is more juicy than google anyways, because those are the newbs who search from the address bar and shit like that.
However, if you had the knowledge and skill to make a few changes to a page and jump to #1 in MSN for your keywords, you're already doing it and this discussion is pointless anyways.sig too bigComment

Can I add that IMHO, when people do searches on their new PC with Live.com, and then think "shit I dont use this, ill go to google" - then do the same search on google - I think a LOT of them will think "Fuckin hell that Live.com results page was a fucking 1000 times better than this google shyte" - and then they will go back to live.com.Comment

obviously dumping google would be stupid, but anyone has an article about msn optimization?Comment

Another great fucking tip from Spacedog. I wonder how much msn traffic he is getting now. He must be making shitloads.Comment

Msn
Last year, I've purchased some SEO service. It ruined my MSN traffic almost completely.I've never recovered and for me, MSN is best converting traffic. My personal opinion is that is is because google is used in all countries and majority of MSN traffic is from US, and we all know who are best membership byers. That experiment showed me best how much MSN traffic is good.
Anyway, I am using Webmasters Live tools, but is there anything special that we can do to get more MSN traffic?Femdom Destiny

Step 1: Optimize for Google. That should set up you up pretty well for the other SEs as also.
Step 2: If you happen to know some secret ways to game MSN, check that it won't be contrary to what helps you in Google and do it, if it does, go back to step 1.
I've found many spammy techniques work best with MSN, techniques I would never use since they would jeopardize my Google results.jim (at) amateursconvert . com Amateurs ConvertComment

I think spacedog is confused..
If your site is optimized for google, THEN it is already optimized for MSN.
There is no such thing like choosing to optimize for google with one code and for msn with another.
These kind of threads give me a good laugh.Comment

not true Lamis, the algorithms are different, therefore, there are subtle differences in strategy when one wants to optimie for one search engine versus another
