Not an exotic, but I want to get another ferret when we eventually get a bigger house. Had one who died of old age (he was almost 7) a few years ago. Those little fuckers are a trip.
We had a hardwood floor, and he'd start running, get going pretty good, then his back feet would get ahead of his front and he'd jackknife like a crashing semi, slide all over the place in a little ball of fur and feet. He also liked to swim in the toilet...needless to say we kept the lid down all the time.
