On the contrary,
He was BORN AND RAISED MUSLIM.
His father was a muslim
His step father was a muslim
Obama, in his own words in his book that he wrote even confirms that he was raised and taught muslim values during his early childhood years.
His school registration papers in Indonesia list him as MUSLIM!
(Obama had no choice in this matter.. He was a child.)
Later in his life he REJECTED ISLAM and identified with Christianity.
According to Islamic law, he IS muslim, however, since he chose to not accept it, he is by them considered as an Apostate, which is the equivalent to being a traitor and it's punishable by death according to the Q'ran.
Is he a muslim? NO, but technically, if one wants to argue using Islam, he is by birth.
Does it matter if he is muslim or not? No, it does not, but what matters is how he hides his past, distorts the facts, lies, and comes across as having an unknown agenda.
When asked if he is a muslim and he replies with no, technically he is telling the truth considering the fact that he identified with and embraced christianity. (black liberation theology would be more accurate.)
When Obama says he is not a muslim, he is solidifying his faith in christianity, because that is what he practices. Has anyone ever asked him, "where you ever a muslim?"
Had Obama just come out and been straight up with the American people on this issue, it would have put this issue to an end. All he had to do was explain that his father and step father were muslim, that these men taught him the islamic values when he was a child, but that he rejected it and identified with Christianity, which he still practices til the present. It's not that fucking hard to figure out.
