Or potential President:

She is perky, peppy, bubbly, one of those shiny, happy glass-half-full types whose folksy ?betchas? and ?shout-outs? to third-graders and winks would be welcome in the nurse wheeling you from the operating room or the flight attendant reassuring you as your jet bounces at 30,000 feet. Her style would go over great debating for student council.
But in a person who could be president? It?s just weird, childish, silly, even patronizing, as if we voters are third-graders ourselves. And that relentless chipperness, real or faux? Enough already.
Imagine, if you will, a debate between the aforementioned Hillary. As one local female politician put it, ?Hillary would?ve eaten her lunch.? Imagine other local female politicians winking at anybody, even once, in a debate. Attorney General Martha Coakley? Former Lt. Gov. Kerry Healey? Suffolk Sheriff Andrea Cabral? No, I don?t think so. The difference between these women and Palin is clear: They are serious, thoughtful, analytical, sophisticated - good qualities, in case we?ve forgotten. They could name you a Supreme Court decision without panicking. And they?d never, ever pretend hockey-momming has anything to do with running the world.
