I can probably count the number of times an audience has clapped at a movie in my lifetime on one hand, but its been happening alot lately.. especially in the superhero movies. They clapped at X-Men 3.. Kinda weirds me out a little bit, but its actually pretty cool when you can tell everyone else in the theater is really into it, and not just sitting there in total silence pretending everyone else in there doesnt exist.

Grr anyone know of an Imax theatre near San Diego that's playing the movie? I've got to take some girls to see it this weekend, would rather go see it again in an Imax...My flash player doesn't work on this computer either so I can't even check the list of all the theatre's playing it ~_~

We had one guy in our group of about 15 that didn't like it either... Strange...

Last night a group of us went to see Superman Returns IMAX style and 3-D. Given the track record of the films we?ve seen so far this year, and, the fact that the LA Times gave SR a lackluster review, I really wasn?t expecting too much from the latest super hero flick. But......... I was surprised and impressed! This treatment of Superman is the best ever with a great script, excellent casting, phenomenal special affects, fantastic performances, subtle nuances that put some great finishing touches on several scenes, and an all around good time movie that was never boring or cheesy.

OK, it?s Superman. You know what you?re in for. But Bryan Singers treatment of this film will not disappoint and will keep you interested for the full 157 minutes.

Brandon Routh?s restrained portrayal of Superman was dead on giving you a super hero you can love and respect. And, he easily moved into the bumbling Clark Kent character which is the antithesis of the super hero. Kevin Spacey nailed the part of Lex Luthor and despite the bad reviews I?ve read of his performance I can?t think of a better choice for the part. You?ll love to hate him.

I highly recommend seeing this film IMAX style. It deserves the real estate. There are only about 20 minutes of 3-D scenes and I was not quite impressed with the 3-D affects, but what the hell? It?s still fun so why not?

Best action film of the year so far by a long shot! Well told, visually stunning, a real ride. Go see it.

the movie sucked ass. some cool special effect scenes, but the new superman is creepy. too much lois lane. lex luthor was lame and so was his evil plan. batman begins was 100 times better.

Awesome review Rand. I saw this movie for the second time last night with some more friends. Was even better the second time around and still found myself on the edge of my seat even though I knew what was coming.
