Having reached the "older age" and having a sustainable auto income that is way more than I could ever spend - I went through this thought process a few years ago - I had just come out of the hospital after a mild heart attack - was placed on numerous medications(that Ive trimmed way down) and gone through some very nasty stuff thaat lasted for over 15 years.
At that point I decided that life can run right by you if youre not looking - and that there were some things I hadnt done yet that I really wanted to experience - since that day I have been doing nothing but those things - ranging from little pleasures like working out in the woods on my property with a chainsaw - to building things - to backpacking(my favorite dream is to do the whole Appalachian Trail in two years from now) - and start getting rid of some of the "stuff" I've accumulated for the last many years - its pretty bad having a 5 bedroom house to myself where I cant fit anymore "stuff" in it

I make enough to pay my bills, invest a little and enjoy life. I don't drive a fancy car, live in a big house, or wear expensive clothes. I could make more. But I'm enjoying life right now doing what I'm doing so I see no need to work 20 hour days to have some extra $$$ in the bank
