Is MySpace the slowest site on the Internet?

alexa is currently down here... but I wouldn't be surprised if GFY would be slower.

haha.. i think GFY and MySpace are pretty close.. but you'd think with the Billions of dollars MySpace has.. they could afford not to bug out EVERY SINGLE FLIPPIN DAY~!!!

Myspace is waaaaay slower than GFY, its not even close. Myspace has to be the slowest "big" site on the web.

I don't think MySpace is all that much slower given that it usually has much more to load, but it is FAR more tempermental.. I must pound my keyboard at least once a day from being pissed off at MySpace

from what I've read they don'T make that much money yet.

I don't have this problem with myspace. Some profiles are slower than others though..some people post too many pics and bad code that sometimes has even crashed IE and Firefox..

x peeps is slower, i think, but I just had FF close like 10 times from someone's overloaded profile, ugh. it wouldn't stay up long enough for me to get off the page, and I have session saver, so every time i opened ff back up, there it was again, lol

That would about sum it up perfectly. I've never had all the errors I get in MySpace on GFY even on it's busiest day.

Myspace.com still uses a bit of coldfusion code, though they are using Blue Dragon which allows you to run cfm code through the .net framework, without the need for the Cold Fusion application server.

Most social networks have these types of problems simply because of the logistics behind it. Managing hundreds of thousands of simultaneous connections, maintaining sessions with each person, load balancing everything is an absolute nightmare. I don't think I've seen a single social network who has overcome all these feats to get a reliable service yet.
