When I talked to Kristen last week she told me they were expecting maybe 300, but had over 500 at the time.

What is kinda lame is no links to the site that handles the registration from the article?

The graphic for it on the page doesn't have a link to it either?

It is the first show, but that has nothing to do with their grasp, or lack thereof, of the value of anchor text.

This show was promoted and marketed very professionally. I am not suprised that the numbers are so high. Online companies know how to take care of online.

As I told Kristen, I was surprised that they only anticipated 300 people showing up. They get close to that many at the various Giga bashes they throw spur of the moment at a club in Hollywood.

Thee was that many at my birthday party that Deraj and BrettJ organized on Cinco de Mayo in Seattle.
