I hate being a pornographer!!!

I am not even sure if I am one as all I do is sell porn. I was out with a very nice girl who at the end of the night wanted to know if I starred in porn as my friends had said, "He works in the porn industry."

Yep, I work in porn and yep most normal people are freaked out by it. I do not date porn stars and I do not want to ( ok Sunny Leone would work). Shit, do I have to date skanks and strippers here on out? Mentally damaged girls are only fun for so long.

i know man. i had to recently tell all my friends, that know what i do, that i quit selling porn and now just design websites so they can't go around telling people what i do. once people hear you work in porn, you're automatically a slimebag.

When I tell people that I'm involved in porn they're either fascinated and start asking me questions or they're like 'not my thing, but hey, no problem!'. I haven't yet encountered anyone with a negative reaction to what I do.

I have the mainstream side of it going. And it is going well so I am going to just go through any contact i told about this side of it and say it is gone. I had started working a while ago to make it smaller for this very reason.

I just tell people I either do sales and marketing for online sites, or that I'm a web developer/designer and everyone assumes right away "for what kind of sites? Porn sites??" and I say various different ones. If they ask persistently I tell them I work for Naughty America and tell the rest of the truth about what I do, but only if they are persistent, otherwise the people don't really care about what you do they are just trying to make conversation so no point in scaring them away in the begining hehe.

You know, being gay, I think what I do is even more widely accepted than in the breeder community. I've never come across anyone gay that was the least bit put off by me being a pornographer.

I learnt my lesson about 18 months ago on this issue..

I guess the girls in the UK are easily freaked as well which does not help..LOL

Met a nice girl went on a couple of dates and on the 3rd date over a Chinese meal i thought it was about time to explain what i did exactly.. Probably my fault for being honest but hey it's a bridge that needs crossing sooner or later..

Anyway after i had finished telling her in my most subtle and understated was she screamed at the top of her voice "You pervert" and yes the whole restaurant did stop talking and look at me...!!! Then she got up from the table told me she never wanted to see me again and walked out..

Well with me being the hungry kind of guy i am i decided to eat the extra food and go home somewhat pissed off but at least not feeling hungry..

So now as has been previously mentioned it is the whole marketing scenario which is only a very small white lie but is more socially acceptable..

Exactly. Good people in your life care about you, and don't make huge ethical demands of you if you're not hurting anyone. People would argue we do hurt people, but so does every other industry in the world. Life isn't all cookies and milk.

I immediately write-off anyone who makes opinions on my life, even if I like them. Happened to me this weekend. Met this guy at my dad's cottage, older guy, lots of arthritis, we both smoke a lot of weed so we had something in common.

He was great until he started making tiny passes at my wife, asked her what she was doing with me, what kind of life she was going to have, etc. I mentioned I played poker.. His response? every dollar gambled is a dollar wasted. When I told him I planned to move to Mexico with my wife one day (as she's from Mexico City and just immigrated here) he told me how dangerous it was there, and how he would never live there. That they will get me. Finally, when he asked me how I paid my rent, I told him I wrote a cheque.

I never even told him I was in the adult industry. He wrote himself off before I got the chance. In the end, you have to take guidance from people with experience, not people with an opinion. If a non-weed smoker tries to tell me I should quit smoking, or that it's bad, whatever, I'm going to take my 10 years of experience over their 0 years+opinion.

If someone who knows nothing about the porn industry tells me I'm a bastard and hurting people, I just don't pay them any mind. Then again if you guys tell me I'm a sick bastard and hurting people, I'd have to consider.
