Bro dont bother with shooting in hotels. Due to the usual colour of hotels I always think the content looks fucking bland. Hotel rooms are usually just a mixture of beiges.
Find a service appartment as they tend to look better and are bigger so it is easier to light properly.
Personally I would find someone in your area who has experience in lighting plus their own kit and hire them for the day.Last edited by Relish XXX; 06-28-2006, 12:14 PM.Comment

Dont get me wrong I do shoot in hotels but I just dont want them to look like hotels. The hotel look has been killed by the gonzo craze. The content I think all looks the same unless you get a hotel room that has an individual look.Comment

While we are asking stupid questions I thought I would ask one.
I want to start posting TGP galleries, can I just use someone elses and change the URL?
And do I need all the pictures to be from the same set? I was thinking of taking a few from Lightspeed, few from MILF Hunter, some of my own and something else to give the gallery a broader appeal.
That is the level of questions, regarding webmastering, that get everyone helping when someone ask photographt questions.
Validus buy some books, or go to the local library and read up on photography.Comment

Considering you (and some other people here) are pro's... it is forth asking

Always get a room in a nice hotel, make sure there is enough space around the bed to set up lights. I would suggest you turn off all hotel lights and just use your own light set. Donot forget to bring your extension cables, dont hook up all lights to the same outlet, you will blow it.Comment

BTW I haven't done much model work but I've had success cranking up the Flash Exposure Compensation (sometimes to +2 or +3 stops) and pulling back with curves in post processing. It's the "expose to the right" concept for flash photography; it also allows you to shoot with less (or no) ambient light so long as the room isn't too large.
One con: it may not be too comfortable for someone who has their eyes open (ie the model)Last edited by rowan; 06-29-2006, 01:25 PM.Comment

Don't forget to turn on all the table lamps so you get those SEXY pools of yellow orange light at the sides of the bed.
