Perhaps, but I've had conversations with people who believe Palin did an excellent job in her interviews. Whether they really believe that or not, I don't know. But it suggests that short of a mental breakdown during the debate, things probably won't change much.

Major discord seems to come down to one topic - economic policy. Taxes. Who is taxed, how that tax money will be spent (wasted), and the effect of those taxes on the overall economy. There is a fundamental difference in approach by both candidates. Some make the case that Obama is another Carter - tax and spend. Others make the case that McCain is another Bush - don't tax but spend. The result is arguably the same, debt and economic ruin but one policy might get us there sooner than the other. Anyway, there doesn't seem to be much wiggle room with people's perspectives on this so they stick with their party's nominees.

Then there is the 3rd party approach - don't tax AND don't spend.
