For 2 months after 9/11 I was amazed at this. Really in awe. Everyone in NYC were talking to each other, smiles on their faces, helping out, etc. It was completely dumbfounding as I'd never seen that there. I remember crying a few times just witnessing things as I'd drive through the city or while riding on the subway.
