I went to bed last night determined to stay out of this. I hoped that Lindsay would go to sleep (after a big night out) and wake up and realize how much of an emotional over reaction this was, because he was right to go off his head at Flog for not paying the designer but there is more to the rest.
A few truths from this thread that need to be corrected:
1) Flog was hired for a job way above his skill level, said so, was told no it will be fine you will learn. Flog repeatedly said "I can't complete this task because I need a programmer".
3) Eventually flog started lying, saying he had completed tasks he hadn't even figured out how to do yet because he felt stupid saying he didn't know how to do things. A lesson we all need to learn.
4) Raven was hired, and a series of problems arose from a combination of Flog's poor time management skills and Raven's poor management skills
5) Flog's lack of maturity and business experience made him handle everything that followed badly, and he made more fuckups trying to fix his original one
6) Flog started asking around for other jobs because he could see he wasn't going to be able to fix things.
7) Flog didn't pay a designer he was supposed and behaved badly towards him for it. This is the only truly bad thing he did.
CTB is one of my best friends, and someone who is very dear to me. We are friends beyond business bullshit and have the type of relationship that's impossible to explain. We are just friends, unconditionally and above all of this type of bullshit. One of the things I love about him most is his passion for his friends, and a large part of his emotion from this situation is because the shit with Flog has caused Raven & I to not like each other - 2 of his closest friends.
I would have arrived at this conclusion anyway though ... Raven and I are just not the type of people who can work together, so we would have ended up not liking each other eventually. We are both strong women, we clash.
I have also had the opportunity to get to know Flog well, and he is a sweet kid who just got in out of his depth. I am so upset at how his life is being destroyed by this situation, and those who have posted their opinions without knowing anything that has gone on hopefully at least got a good sig spot.
In closing, CTB has every right to have been pissed off at Flog's actions. He's done a bad job of handling his job ... but at his core he's just a sweet kid who has had to learn his first lesson in business the VERY HARD way - via a CTB spanking.Comment

shit thats harsh.. shows a lot about ones character. someone takes you under there wing. gives you a huge head start over anyone coming into the biz. treats you like family and to show such disregard for all that. id disown you too, thats fucking low.
i know ive had some friends that have done similar things for me. i couldn't imagine doing something like that to any of them. i think id become ill from guilt. you live and you learn. hope everything works out for ya CTB.

cj....realise this. That I HAVE talked to Lindsay and others, prior to posting what I did, and I also have information that you do not have.
Whether or not you and I care for each other is moot; of course, after this post of yours, there will never be a meeting of the minds, or even the ability to agree to disagree.....and that's fine. I'm sure your friendship with Lindsay is just as intact as mine. He's a big guy and can deal with the fact that you and I do not and probably will not ever get along. Such is life.
There are things you don't know. Especially where my management skills lie or do not lie, especially on the subject you are discussing.
Ask Lindsay when he gets back to Australia. I am sure he will clear that one up for you.
Know this, however. I am not nor have I ever been CTB's employee.
I am not going to hash this out on this board, as this thread has little to do with me.
Kieran is not just some poor kid who got in way over his head and then felt he had to lie. Initially, that's what I thought, too...until little by little, things rose to the surface, forcing me to change my opinion of poor little Kieran.

To all concerned I send my sympathy.
I have not yet had to opportunity to meet CTB but by all accounts he is a great guy both socially and to do business with.
I have however had the chance to meet Flog and CJ who speak very highly of CTB and this is the reason that this situation will be so difficult for those who are involved.
I have had enough experience in life to be able to judge people I meet and would judge FlogTheLog as one very good person. A lot to learn YES! Little life experience YES! but never the lest a very good person who could be a real asset to this industry.
I have no clue as to how this situation has come about but hope everyone involved can find there feet and more on the bigger and better things as soon as possible.Comment

I can not judge this "drama" either way seeing as I dont know the full story. I can, however, add my that "Flog" is truly a good guy. After reading the last posts, I am getting a broader picture and more understanding.
I am still Kieren's friend, as I always will be. I just think things are a little heated right now.

There is no excuse for what you did and Lindsay was put in a situation which was obviously very difficult given your close friendship, but he was your boss and like any boss would have, he fired you.
We learn from our mistakes, what gets you down can only make you more determined to get up.

Kieran has made reparations today for what is owed.
What he can never expect is ever to get back my trust.
Some have expressed how harsh they think my actions have been. I accept that. I also accept the support I have received from many others.
If this industry outed more people, there would be less drama overall. That has always been my opinion. And I walk my talk as anyone who knows me knows all too well.
In this instance, being screwed by a friend who I opened my house and my life too... well, he screwed the wrong guy at the wrong place at the wrong time.
