UK Woman With MS Gains Recover From Stem Cell Treatment

    http://icsurreyonline.icnetwork.co.u...name_page.html

It's worth posting again because this woman really is a champion. Her dad was friends with John Lennon and is selling his memorabilia to pay for the treatment. Truly amazing story of recovery so far.

Every freaking day there's a new miracle story regarding stem cells. Being able to treat multiple sclerosis is a major, major achievement. Neurological disorders are the toughest but just this week two or three major stories regarding repairing nerves and neurological damage have come to the fore.

Accident victims, soldiers, all with these injuries are closer to being made well again. It's gonna happen. Sooner than later.

Will do! I was just thinking how I'd go about finding info about the "dutch clinic" to keep up with the progress of this treatment, and if it's more invasive then they are letting on in that story. Right now I'm still walking and stuff, so can't complain, but I'm heading down... not up.

Hey Greg, you'll probably have this memorized so I won't have to look it up, but remember the rat that had its spinal cord partially repaired by stem cells after being severed in two? How much of mobility did it recover? Wasn't it like 40-60%?

definitely encouraging but let's not jump to conclusions, anecdotal evidence counts for very little in medicine. MS is a relapsing and remitting disease, so part of its natural progression is there are periods of improvements followed by further attacks. (I sound like such a killjoy ;)).

There's definitely a lot of potential with stem cells I'm certainly hoping it all pans out.
