Who else is fed up with GUBA?

Time to take a stand against GUBA. My attorney is chomping at the bit to sue these guys so I am going to do it.

As it stands right now, I will be paying 100% of the bill and getting 100% of the reward. If any of the big talkers would like to put their money were their mouth is, here is the deal....

You can particiapte and help foot the bill. If you participate, you will receive a percentage of the reward equal to your level of participation. So, if you pay 15% of the cost of the suit, you will receive 15% of the reward. We will also be asking for full reimbursement of legal fees.

there are others like them.

from what i know about guba now they are buying content to put in there.

they are still however still going to allow and encourage users to upload their own stuff. how they will filter our content that isn't paid for is beyond me.

usenet feeds are supposed to go bye bye. i think they should be gone already, but it hasn't happened.

lesbodojo has told me that the usenet feeds are going away. they need to be gone first and content added as they get it.

right now, skinvideo.com is the guba adult side. they have removed adult content links from the guba side.

skinvideo is the engine now that utilizes the usenet feeds and so forth.

i hear that they are doing the right thing. still keeping an eye on it.

in my eyes and the eyes of other content producers, they are not golden until they can stop the members or even affiliates from uploading our stuff.

they need complete control in order to stay in the clear.

Bullshit. My REGISTERED copyrighted content is all over their site. I don't care that they are "planning" to do the right thing. They don't get to steal MY property while they get their shit together. They want to do the right thing than they should shut down their site immediately, as in THE NEXT 5 MINUTES, and not reopen it until they have LEGAL RIGHTS to use the content that they are PROFITING from.

This case, in light of the recent perfect 10 v google decision is about as close to a slam dunk as they come.

I don't care that their representative is a nice person, or is your friend, or bought you a beer at a tradeshow. They have been stealing for a long time and now they have to pay.

The infringement has already been documented.

couldn't agree with you more. might as well go after all of them at once then, there are tons fo these guba things out there that suck off the usenet and don't pay us.

not only that but in the case of guba they re-encode your content for other platforms like psp and ipod without you giving permission for that as well.

its cool man, i was in a tirade over them for weeks. the skin went up, the war began. the skin came down. prior to that, i had no knowledge of them. there are so many of these news services that you could practically build a business around going after them. then the password sites are there too.

anyhow, no harm, just wanted you to know that we both are incredibly frustrated at what kind of damage these types of sites can do to all of us paysite owners.

slash their throats and shut them down or we can all kiss our futures good bye eventually. you can only rob so much and sell it without restituting to the producer for so long until the scales sway and producer will no longer be able to produce content.

i've ridden guba so hard that i am suprised i'm not in an alley somewhere bruised and beaten, i've got people looking into it as well. we need a class action type group that pools a little money to go after all of these people.

i do send to usenet abuse when i find my stuff and they ban the users and remove the content. its a very time consuming job though man.

i'm with ya on this.

Even if what A1R3K says is true and Guba is attempting to make these supposed changes...it doesn't negate the fact that they've been illegally using the content for a very long time and turning a tidy profit for themselves with it. All the while creating potential loss of income for those of us they've been infringing against.

Claiming they're now fixing things is after-the-fact. Actually, its a self-admission of their own wrongdoings all along.

They're bottom-feeding scumbags. Always have...always will be.

I'd love to have the financial resources to join you on this legal action, and we probably would have except we seem to keep losing revenue to these rip-off sites.
