I hate to say it but you sound like a real ignorant douche-bag. Your programmer took a better deal. Why shouldn't he? That's what life is about. He saw a good opportunity, and it paid off.
In the future, work on keeping your employees happy. There's lots of books out there on the subject. Also, work on doing something to improve your own business... instead of working on retaliation.
