    My daughter likes to...

    Be dropped off at school and/or work about 15 minutes early... Then wants you to wait in the car with her until it is the exact amount of time it will take her to get in and punch the clock or take a seat...

    I think my old lady is being to kind...

    I kicked her ass to the curb and said, "Welcome to the real world."

    Now she is upset...

              While I applaud her ability to work and go to school it drives me nuts that she can't socialize... I used to work at the same place and still hang out with a lot of the people I met there (grocery store). Everyone is young and so it is strange to me that she acts like they are old stuffy people or something...

              I don't think I will ever understand her generation... Like my parents didn't get mine either.

                          Exactly... It is strange... Friends all say, Wow, she is do grown up and responsible but in reality she only acts that way to make herself feel secure and that is what bugs me. It isn't a true ability to lead like others see it, it is a need to follow a path someone else already cleared.

                          Of course her mom thinks she is just fine and takes her lunch at school and when she doesn't our daughter calls her and literally begs and cries tears because now she has no one to be around during lunch... She has two freshman siblings that she hangs with mostly...

                          I couldn't imagine my older brother wanting to hangout with me back in high school... We tried to avoid eachtother at all costs.

                                                                              Alternately, you should enjoy what little time you do have left to spend with her. once she's off the college its all over. Next thing you know she's married and calfed 2 kids, then they're at your funeral wondering where the years all went.

                                                                              Never look at extra time with your daughter as anything but a blessing. you'll regret it later on.

People thought she was a snob, because she did great in school but had absolutely no social skills! She went on to get her masters, met and eventually married another nerd at Rollins college. They have been very happily married for about 15 years. They are both still total nerds, but very happy! I'm sure she'll be fine

I don't know why but it helps when I do things according to plan. i.e. I plan out everything before I leave the house. I don't know why its a mental thing.
