Hudson looked cool. last time i was in new york i stayed at the paramount (another ian schrager property at the time, horrible expierence, horrible beds, bedding and towels) It's since been sold to the Melia/ Hard Rock group and might be worth a second look ....

My expierence with new york - was as long as you're on manhattan island it doesn't matter where you stay - cabs are super cheap and everywhere. the subway is also extremely easy to use.

As for airport - la guardia or JFK. Newark is the furthest - but - i think it's got a train that goes straight into the city. Certain airlines only service certain airports. and i think laguardia is closest to the city - so that would be my recommendation

Lindsey couldn't fit in the Hudson's tiny basic rooms.

NY hotels have raised their rates a bit over the past month so you will have to hunt on the other sites to match that price.

If your a big guy and want a great place stay at the tribeca grand, its downtown and all the rooms are really big.

if you're flying from TO, La Guardia is your best bet, and usually the cheapest, its like a 50 min flight

The Muse on that page was heavily recomended to us and looks really nice. Too bad they didn't have that offer when we booked...
