It's a pretty good story when you get down to the idea of the US doing nuclear test and small town folk refusing to leave. It's also known to have made a few technical achievements i.e. when the green light flashes directly into the camera for cuts. Ted Levine is one my favorite actors, mainly becuse of Monk, but also cause he can never play anything other then a cop, lol.
Rent it, Watch it and make up your own mind. Even the worse movies of all times still have a few good bits.

I just finished watching it and I have to say it was sure worth renting! Yeah there was tons and tons of blood and a lot of the fight scenes that were hard to believe but definitely one that makes you jump many times.
Great special effects and make up! As crazy as it seems I kinda think there are people real similar to them living out there...ever driven Vegas from AZ! Looking at all those cars next to some beat up old shack makes me wonder how they got there...
Good movie though!
