Barbados?

thinking of reloacting to Barbados, of course I will visit it before I decide, but I'm wondering if any of you had been there, what you thought of it, your experiences, and if it is a place you'd live..

Barbados is great if you like a diet of flying fish and rice. The cigars aren't too bad and the golf course is so-so. At least they speak english (of sorts) however, you might want to check on internet connections first. My guess they are rather fucked up.

Try Curacao. They're getting some good net connections now and its not so poverty stricken as alot of the Caribbean.

Two places you should look at: Bermuda and The Caymans.

Barbados is nice as well but I agree about the probable lack of infrastructure needed to run an online business.

ok, maybe this will have some bearing, out of all the carribean (sp?) islands, barbados is the only where i have a longtime friend who is native that lives there, of whom his dad is a Judge... i am hoping this will help us out as far as ease of transition etc?

does this change anything as far as looking at other Islands?

oh yeah, also Barbados has strong DSL, i know this...

Let us know what your experiences are... I don't plan on living in the states forever... sure would be a dream to run my websites from a tropical paradise.

It would be cool if there was some kind of adult webmaster service that did reviews of different areas. There seems to be a lot of adult webmasters that are seeing that it makes a lot of sense to take advantage of the freedom that we have. There are books and website resources -- but we have special needs -- like availability of high speed internet, taxes, hot babes, etc... ;)

I was talking to latinalocator.com about Costa Rica and he said they recently cut the price of his internet connection in half -- so he upgraded to a higher speed line... It would be nice if there was a central place to track all of this type of info. Maybe have a list of various webmasters that would be willing to assist other webmasters in relocation -- organize trips, etc. You could call it ebizparadise.com or something like that...

After you bank off the idea, buy me a beer in Barbados ;)

Heh...it always helps to have some local connections, especially when moving into a new country so I would certainly give that some weight.

DSL works there? That's cool...I didn't know that.

Barbados is a beautiful country. Lush and tropical with nice beaches. They make good rum and a good local beer although the name of it escapes me since it's been about 3 years since I was there.

I still prefer the Caymans.

Turks&Caicos is a Island in the Bahamas chain.It's a British Province and is the most beautiful place i have been to..

They have a clubmed there which i will put together a clubmed trip for webmasters someday..
