Have Your Seen "An Inconvenient Truth" ?

I saw it last night and Al Gore blew the cycle theory "way" out of the water. I was a little dubious about global warming, knowing there were cycles of heating and cooling, until I saw the copious evidence in this movie that global warming is happening and it is escalating at a rapid rate over the last 30 years, especially. Great movie. I suggest that everyone see it and draw your own conclusions. Loved the allusions to Hitler and smoking and Lung Cancer. We can't be apathetic.

I recently went to Glacier National Park and it was gorgeous. The effects of Global Warming were already present and when I'm 80, all the glaciers maybe gone.

Ya... I've been stoked about this ever since I caught wind from it here.

I actually attended a speach he gave (to a bunch of M.I.T. graduates) where he claimed that he invented the internet... so ya, I think he can be full of it from time to time...

But on this topic - well, from my vantage point, it's just a topic that needs a spokesperson that can bring it front-and-center... and if Al Gore can do it, it's all good by me.

Hoping to catch it in th enext couple of weeks.

Just think of it like this: What happens if you eat all day with extremley high fatty foods? You will eventually die from heart failure. What happens if we pump out dangerous levels of ozone depleting gasses into our planet's veins? Absolutely nothing because the PLANET DOESN'T HAVE A HEART! This planet sucks ass, it's not worth saving. Do your part to kill it, mess it up as much as possible. Do you think the hurricanes and tornadoes and earthquake it sends your way is a way of it saying it loves you? FUCK NO, this planet is out for YOUR blood. Do you have kids? Not for long if this planet has her way. She's a bitch and she'll bash their skulls in with tree stumps until they bleed to death. Have a wife? Better say your goodbyes now because Planet Earth is waiting until you go to sleep to rape her and slice her throat, all with you asleep next to her. Oh but that's not the end of it. Then the planet will call 9/11, and get your ass thrown in jail for 20 years. People, WAKE UP NOW: This planet wants to FUCK YOU IN YOUR ASS. It is up to US to kill it, and we need to do it right now. Fucking liberal hippies are not going to do it for us. Pick up your axe and cut down a tree. Buy the least energy efficient devices you can find. Salt all of the land! Above all, strive for nuclear energy to become the dominant energy source in the near future... if we can radiate her surface enough, maybe, just maybe, we can defeat her in time.

For the record he never said he "Invented the Internet". It was spinned by the Republicans and press and that's what people heard. http://www.sethf.com/gore/

In the film they showed this graphic of a scale with Gold and The Earth. Which is more important, gold or the "ENTIRE EARTH"? No Earth = no gold, so while regulating emission etc may hurt the economy for awhile(probably ways around that), we won't have a freaking planet if we don't do anything soon.

Well, like I said... it was a different venue than the one you linked, I was physically there...

Maybe his exact words were something more like: "I took the initiative in creating the Internet"...

But I do remember it was like a wave when he said it - it seemed like the entire audience (the graduating class of M.I.T., '96, and friends and families), all, at once looked around at each other with a "Did he really just say that?" look.

The story of Moses and the rock that sprung water came to mind.

People? this isn?t a joke. This is not a drill. The planet wants to MURDER you and everybody you have ever loved and cared about. It wants to electrocute you with lightning, it wants to fry you with lava. It wants to crush you with falling boulders, it wants to drown you with a flood. It wants to suffocate you with poisonous gasses? this planet WANTS YOU DEAD. Do you think the Katrina victims love this planet? How about the victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake which caused the tsunami to kill nearly 230,000 people? Yeah I bet they just adore this fucking useless rock. I?ll tell you what: Wait until the planet grabs you and shoves you down to the ground and shoves rocks into your ass over and over until it pulls out your colon, your small intestines then you?re large, then your stomach and your esophagus. Then tell me you think this planet is worth saving you mother fuckers. You and people like Al Gore just make me sick, you profess peace and all this lovey dovey bullshit yet you let Earth get away with murder EVERY DAY. You people are fucking hypocrites

I can't wait to see it. Great to hear a possitive review. We only get one planet and its clear our actions are effecting it. This is why I bought a 2006 Lexus RX400 last month Its a great feeling to bling and help save the globe
