I spent the first 3 years of "high school", actually an English public (read private) school, being punished on an almost daily basis for refusing to obey the rules. Not all of them: we were handed a rule book on the first day which covered everything from who was allowed to write on blackboards through to how far your hair had to clear your ears, and most I went along with. My problem was with fagging, specifically that I refused to serve lunch to the older boys before getting my own. And I refused to clear up after them.
If anyone has ever seen the movie "If", you will get the picture...
We didn't really have nerds and jocks in the regular sense, because everyone had to pass an exam to get into the school. So most of the kids ended up at university, but we turned out a few top-class cricketers and rugby players (including some who played for England) over the years as well.Comment

Cheerleader, but I was also always getting in trouble. I talked a lot in class (hard to believe, eh??). But I always liked everyone. Not sure if it was returned, but I didn't have any enemies I knew about, so that was OK with me ;) I probably would have been diagnosed as ADD/ADHD/hyper/etc. had I been born a generation later.Comment
