    Marketing - Affiliate Manager Question

How do you stagger their pay. I mean really.

Here is what I am looking at before the flames begin. I am looking at bringing in someone to start dealing with the marketing end of business. I have a few assistants who post on forums, do updates, manage some things while away. But I need someone a bit more savy.

We've all read board posts saying $50k + commission down to 10-15k + commission or completely incentive based. I am looking for a some ideas n staggering some for of payment on this need so I can move on to some other things.

Experience whether you are a program owner, or have been in this position is a plus.

    Fire away ladies.

A base plus a % is always a good way to go. You dont want the guy to give up after 3 months because the % is not yet enough to sustain him/her. If you can afford it, pure salary is not a bad way to go. But it has to be enough for the amount of work.

        Thanks buddy.

Well, I kicking around some different options. From part timer, and incentive base. To starting it out one way, and then working to a flat base salary. It needs to be fair on both ends, and I would just as leave keep someone then have turnover.

It's easier to keep someone, and happy, then recruit, and retrain new people all the time. Same for the models. I try and keep em happy so I am not doing 12-15 interviews a week.

enuff salerly to support them, say 20-30k a year the a nice incentive commission package to make them want to strive.
want to buy this spot for cheap? it is of course for sale. long term deals are always the best bet. brand0n/ at/ a o l dot commies.

Who exactly are you looking for?
I didn't really read your "part time program owners" thread, but if you're looking to run an "intive only" program, meaning opening your program only to very selected affiliates (as you once said), then do you have a real need to have an "affiliate manager", especially one dealing mosty with the 'marketing-end of business'?

From what you said, you already have webmatsers inquiring about the chance to promote your stuff, and some more affiliates, you'd easily get them from GFY on your own...

When I was a salesman (many moons ago) we used to get a salary plus commission The salary was ok to live on but it was the commission that made the difference it def made us work harder. Plus if we reached a set target we would get a bonus on top of our commission. Its a good way to motivate workers and think it would be a good way of paying an affliate manager.

BTW if you want an affliate manager give me $30k a year plus commisssion and a bonus and a car free phone use free internet access a bottle of champayne once a month just to show how much you appreciate me working for you and I will do it for you

In this regard i'd ponder a younger person and take them on as an apprentice for limited pay in year 1 + a better commission base to keep him/her hungry. Final year marketing students in college are prime examples as they will soak up information you train them. Further your bringing a new person into the industry, when things succeed (optimistic) then you will have a loyal soldier to work with. Just a quick ponder for you...

Yeah, I thought that as well. I have some of the models who are about to graduate college. Plus I always have the local male turds who want to "get into da biz". So I thought about making them pay their dues before being promoted.

Just make sure they know your niche. It will of course make your pool of applicants much smaller but an affiliate manager that does not understand your niche is pretty much wasting money.
