    I am in New Orleans... things aren't so bad here.

    Alysha and I are in 'Nawlins for the Bucs/Saints game on Sunday, but decided to come a few days early to hang out on Bourbon. Gustav didn't leave too bad of a mess from what we can tell, but we haven't really left the French Quarter. Not too many peeps out tonight, though... hopefully it'll be better tomorrow.

    Doesn't look good for next week, though... Hurricane Ike is heading this way now.

                          Yeah just don't leave the French Quarter, there is still no power or stores fully open a few miles away.

                          but the quarter is always a party, even through hurricanes.

                                  Yeah... our hotel is officially "closed", but they still let us in. There's a bunch of cops staying here. We'll get back down to Bourbon tonight so Alysha can collect some beads.

                                                                          I was there during Katrina and haven't been back since. I really want to head back though and see how well the smart/wealthy people have taken advantage of the opportunity to instantly gentrify what was once a great city.
