There is a little more to it than that scratching thing up (that was more a joke than anything)..... she was scratching herself up as well, she has a nervous disorder and she was scratching all of her hair out on her face with her front claws, she'd scratch her eyes til they bled, so they HAD to go. They want to do it with my male persian too, but I haven't done it yet. He has some sort of a thing going on with him where he can't contract them so he walks around stuck to everything like Velcro most days.... these two cats were severely abused before I got them and they had to have a load of Vet care..... and as far as climbing, she climbs any tree she wants and she hunts like any other cat... she snags birds out of midair and kills them and leaves them for me to see, she is THE best mouser I have and everything, so she does JUST fine without them...... and she has her hair back on her face and the back of her head.
You can accuse me of a lot of things, but not that. I take IN abused animals, I am not the abuser. But if it comes to THEIR safety or keeping their claws, their claws go. And trust me hon, EVERY cat in my house is horrified of her..... she can take any one of them out at anytime she chooses and she knows it and so do they. I have a Boxer and a Great Pyrenees in the yard and they are terrified of her too, this cat that you say is so abused.........
