I have a question.. if his character is so strong and good, how does that translate to coming home and cheating on his wife, who had been caring for his kids for those five years?

I can't find a lot about it online. I'm guess because it happened 30 years ago. Although I have seen it excused because of what he went through. I guess when terrible things happen to you, you don't have to hold onto your values or morals?
For a family values campaign this one doesn't seem to hold themselves to it much.
