Because I've paid way less than $70 for logos that were way better and made me tons of money (yes, just the logo). Unfortunately these people quickly realize they can make more charging more and they disappear after a few projects and I'm off to find another designer.

The fact that you pay more means that you're getting ripped off/getting suckered because you can get the work for less.

I didn't want my money back, he did the work, he just did a shitty job. To me my 'research' is actually seeing what people can do, not just talking about it.
