Unfortunately so few Americans these days even know how to properly fly a flag - I gave a speech/seminar about it to a scout troop and they were amazed at the things that "should be" done.

I get amazed by all these idiots running around with decals and stickers on their cars/SUVs - total disrespect of the American flag and against everything it stands for

Everyday is flagday in the US..and when I visited the country, I was amazed by the disrespect towards it. Ragged, dirty flags everywhere. Laying on the ground etc..
if a flag touches the ground, or gets dirty or whatnot..it's supposed to be burned here in finland. But each to their own.

Amazing isnt it - in the US thats what you are supposed to do also - but now we've got these crazy congressmen who are gonna try to pass a law that you cant burn a flag - even though thats been the proper way to dispose of it - actually - youre supposed to give it to an organization that takes care of the burning for ya - but I would be willing to bet most Americans in the US probably throw their old ones in the trash - and then scream about someone desecrating the flag - although they just did
