but...

there was a lot of pressure in that room ..from the guys ... I can see a girl trying to get through it based on that alone ...as a model if Melissa noticed it was hurting her she also could have stepped up and stopped .. I think it was just a bad deal all around ...

only someone who has not shot models extensivly would ever make a comment like that . . once you spend time with these models you'll understand that models are like children in some respect and children do get hurt on the playground.

Good post, Wanton. That's one of the reasons I don't do radio shows. The ones I have been on have spun way out of control and I ended up looking like the "no fun" girl because I wouldn't bounce on the guy's lap or do whatever stupid things to make them laugh. Sure, you end up doing things just to be entertaining and to show you're a good sport. Most models are used to doing what they're told/asked without questions. Separate the model from her usual "handler" and she'll have no idea what to say yes or no to.

*this is not meant to denigrate models at all. I understand the mentality and the situation, as I've been there myself.

that's the thing, girls shouldn't be "models" if they don't have the correct mentality, and certainly shouldn't if you can equate their behaviors/personalities to children on a playground.

i haven't been in the content business, but it IS a serious business with professionals behind the scenes, and IN the scenes, that's a given. and i think it is completely unprofessional of a girl to simply give into pressure and not voice herself if she is uncomfortable.

it's a valuable lesson she will have learned. this drama should probably not be taking place.
