in all honesty, they probably will do nothing.

when i was in college, in 2002 i filed a police report with someone stealing my mail, as well as two other people in my apt (someone broke the mailbox). a few months later I got a phone call from a Chevy dealership 50 miles away in Allentown PA trying to confirm my application for a car that I applied for. I pulled my credit report and saw there was about 10 credit pulls from dealerships and credit cards.

I went down to the police and showed them what happened. their response was "there was nothing we could of done." EVEN though I got the guys home address after my own snooping around

I think that is out of their jurisdiction... even so, they should have recommended somebody else to you perhaps. I don't know what department takes care of mail fraud and credit card fraud... the FBI?

I had a jeep years ago in the city with a soft top (bad idea). Well some asshole cuts the softtop to get in the car and steals a fucking change dispenser filled with $4. I had nothing else of value in the car. So I have to spend a couple hundred on a new softtop because some fuck needed $4.
