VLC works pretty good. It's a little annoying though when you seek and it doesn't go back and get the I-frame. It just continues on using the old I-frame from where you were before you jumped.Comment

As priorly mentioned, Media Player Classic. If you install DefilerPak (old, I know), then update ffdshow, you're still able to watch 98.4% (or so) of content, and you don't have your whole system brainfucked with too many shitty old and unnecessary codecs.

It will player pretty much any weird format you can throw at it and available most OS's and there's need to mess around with downloading codec's
