Our athletes get too caught up with money and fame to win at the International level. Same thing with baseball (World Baseball Classic proved it). Same thing with basketball (Team USA sucking at the Olympics proves this.). Same thing with Hockey (again, Olympics).
I admit it and honestly I'm not surprised, the USA team just plain sucked. The only thing they did was keep the ball in their possession longer but who gives a crap if the forwards can't make anything out of it. That and whenever we had possession, the ball went toward Keller more than going toward Cech - which just reiterate the fact that our guys don't know how to play the game.
The US sports news people need to stop making a big deal out of the USA team. All they talked about leading up to this was 'Gooch' this and that, Donovan this and that. Beasley this and that. We had 6 shots at the goal... only 1 of which came sort of close.
With CR and Italy in our group, it's not really a question of if we're going to be eliminated... it's more of a question of how badly we're going to be eliminated.
