    Dark Knight : About the joker role

    I read how Dark Knight was so much darker than other batman movies, but it's still not that dark... I don't see how a role like that could make someone become crazy, there's so much more roles that are crazier than that, and that are much more realistic, less caricatural.

    I guess it couldn't really be more darker than that because the point is to expose the movie to the biggest number of people and make the most money since it's an hollywood production.

    What do you think of it?

              there's a holding back in the character because as you mentioned, 'because the point is to expose the movie to the biggest number of people'. Remember that the movie is actually initially targeted for younger people.

                  I thought it was dark but I still don't think it would drive anyone crazy and I don't think it drove Heath crazy lol. He had an insomnia problem before the Dark Knight ever started and had for years. I think he may have had some personal problems but not crazy.

                      I doubt it was the role. He probably had problems from before and they may have gotten slightly increased by the acting. If he was all "method" he may have gotten himself into the character, but it's like it was SAW II or anything like that.
