The Future Of Airline Travel.... FREE!!! (Must Read)

Ahhh god bless my Irish Brethren

(Business 2.0 Magazine) - Michael O'Leary, Chief Executive of Ireland's Ryanair (Research), Europe's most profitable airline, wants to make air travel free. Not free as in free from regulation, but free as in zero cost. By the end of the decade, he promises, "more than half of our passengers will fly free."

In the desert, a desperate american tourist in a oasis was complaining to a local bedouin:
"Oh, fuck, I need to get asap in the town, I have an important call to make, my wife is sick..., do you know any means to get there?"
"Sure", says the bedouin, "I have a flying camel".
"Wtf, can you prove me that she flies?".
"Yes, and the camel is a he, not a she...".
"Ok, let's see. If it works, I'll pay you 1000$ if you fly me to the city".
The bedouin brings the camel, spreads it's legs, takes two heavy bricks and slamms camel's nuts between them. The camel takes off screaming and flies far, far away.
"Heyyy, what about me, you forgot me!".
"No problem, spread your legs!" the bedouin says, with the heavy bricks in his hands...

they have been doing that for ages, its always in the news papers over here. Fly free, just pay for taxes. but they are for tickets at the end. So rather than let empty seats go, they give them to people as long as they pay tax. It is not free however if they book in advance.

if the flight cost went down to 53/ seat he could probably do it by putting up advertisements on the big screen and make people pay per view movies on the back of seats with headphones.

how much would you pay to have a captive audience for 2 hours.
Especially if there was a rebate back for all those people ignoring your ads (percentage of revenue discount on pay per views)

The owner of Ryan air, O'Leary was fed up with the long commute from his home into Dublin. So to utilise the lane only for car pool / taxi's he bought himself a fully licensed taxi. Drives it to works each day.

Also Franck told me that he asked Franck's mum out on a date. But since I hear Franck is banned, he cannot confrim or deny I guess

It's not a joke.. Ryanair has been working on this for quite some time now and I'm regularly flying on 1 Pound tickets..

Although free doesn't mean free... there will be at least 15 Pounds taxes on top of each free ticket..

It's actually the other way around. Free or cheap fares are a means of advertising, the rest of the seats are sold in an auction-like process.
