no more galleries, no free movies, no mgp, no nothing...
What would happen in your opinion ?
Convert at 1:25 ?
See your stats multiplied by 10 or 100, maybe 1000 ?
All paysites owner and affiliates getting millionnaire in 6 months ?

What are your thoughts ?

I'd like to start a debate on this touchy subject : There is TOO MUCH free porn on the web (it's a fact) and that's why conversions are going down.

How can we all work to make this not getting worse and worse ?

if I was not allowed to give away free porn tomorrow, it would not dent my sales one bit

everything I do centers around teasing the surfer, so I would not be affected

and if there are affiliates that could not survive a free porn ban, then they haven't been in this shit a long time

there was a time when I was creating SE pages that were 100% completely text, and I was making more sales off those pages then than I am today

well, we can get rid of it, BUT there will still be 100's, 1000's of surfers that will make it available for everyone anyway. Either way, there will always be free porn. With us out of the pictures giving away free porn the surfers would not have to see any of our ads (galleries, free sites etc..) to get all the free porn they wanted. Sure, sounds all good, but the reality is it would not help us.

No no no no no. The movie industy pays millions to get their trailers shown before other movies and on TV. Music industry not only gives away free music on the radio, the try to bribe the stations to play their songs even more for free.

Apples and oranges. People don't see the trailer to a movie and say. I'm sastified with that I no longer need to see the movie I got enough sastifaction from the 3 minute preview. People don't listen to a 30 second preview song on Itunes and think "Hey that's enough for me. No need to listen to the rest of the song." As far as radio? Often the DJ talks over the first 30 seconds of the song. They usually talk over the last 30 seconds or cut the song short. If the song has "bad" words they are often edited. A song recorded from and over the air station sounds shitty.

Here's where you theory goes wrong. If someone jacks-off to a porn sample they obviously didn't think it was AWFUL. I've never met anyone that saw a movie trailer they liked a lot and thought the trailer was good and satisfying they no longer had the desire to see the movie. Once a guy shoots his load his desire to open his wallet decreases greatly.

Stupid statement.

Film industry shows "Coming Attractions" they spend a small fortune on promoting a movie on the TV, Radio, Internet and papers.

Music industry, radio.

I have another idea that we could do and would put billions into this business.

Treat the surfer like a customer who will spend $1,000 a year on porn and not like a schmuck who can be ripped off pocket change.

This same thread was on another board and it was pointed out that in hotels people are paying $20 to watch a porn movie on the cable TV. Yet not logging onto the Internet to view porn. It can be safely assumed these people are not already surfers or members of a porn site.

A great section of guys with money to spend on porn are not coming to the Internet. While we dream of free porn disappearing.

Remember these guys are spending $20 for porn and not looking for it for free either.

I just poted this on the other board. I think it's worth a read.

The solution is, we compete with free porn.

We supply a product that is worth the money. we stop delivering surfers to sites we would not sign up to, sites that we know will squeeze him so they can pay affiliates, sites that we think will shave (steal) affiliates are not always going to treat a customer as well as we would like to treated ourselves, sites that are pop up hells, try to install things onto his computer.

Sites with not enough content to satisfy the surfer for 30 days, sites with content shot by a guy who picked up a camera last week, sites with videos so compressed they are hardly worth it, sites that deliver more to the affiliate than the surfer, sites that were obviously thrown up by someone with little knowledge of the niche, sites that are just pert of a program and one of the ten site they put up this year.

In short we make the surfer trust us.

You can't short change the customer and then blame him for not spending money.

How many affiliates check out what the review sites say about a site they are about to send traffic to?

Go away and rethink it.

If the sites were worth joining he would get out his wallet and go join the site. He spends $30 on a 2 hour DVD in a shop based on the cover.

What you have to do is show him that your level of porn is so much better than the other 1,000 other free clips he can see.

This has been the cry ever since I started to sell on the Internet 7 years ago. There is a very simple solution.

Calculate the amount of time and money you spend on sending traffic to a sponsor.

Then see how much you get back.

Like this.

2 hours @ $20 = $40
Expenses = $10

Return 3 sign ups that made $90
Profit $40 for 2 hours work.

The figures are my invention to illustrate the points.

You might find the guy who shaves you pays you better per hour than the honest guy, I doubt it but just making a point.

If all affiliates worked to this plan the sponsors would soon respond and make sure they were paying the max to get your traffic.
