SD can have an unlimited number of categories and each category is generated by your settings. The script spiders the URLs your want (other sites or your own galleries) and rebuilds the categories on-the-fly. New galleries are added on top of each category.
SD is actually a nice mixup of normal (your own or other) galleries and hosted - I repeat - it's building them as you setup it.

Anyway, Super Directory's main concern are the category pages, not the main page. You have full control over your categories and it's easy to setup.
Once it's setup you will not have any trouble with it - it will update on it's own and keep your site up-to-date.Comment
