Those of us in the SEO game learnt a long time ago that you don't say a word about your listings, your keywords or how much a spot is making you. GFY is a really nasty playground and someone is just as likely to take the top few spots just to spite you and if you are lucky you might get the traffic back via them being an affiliate.
Even an affiliate link to your site can be researched and dismantled and if this guy makes a living off SEO like me then the last thing he wants is attention directed towards his methods. Best thing for you right now is to shut your mouth and hope this thread drops off the main page.  |
the guy was a spammer and the methods of spamming his affiliate link are methods that needs to be banned as an affiliate... he fluked out with his link in finding a vulnerable sponsor that had some problems with the way his domain was set up... the other sponsors that the guy is spamming should take notice too, this kind of affiliate does zero good for the sponsor
affiliate links are intended to be put up on affiliates own websites, not spammed on myspace or all over the net or anywhere, and an affiliate that does that should have their account closed and not get paid a dime, bottom line
if a guy had earned the top spot on google for the same keyword but for his OWN WEBSITE then that would be an accomplishment and that would deserve all the earnings he gets with no complaints from the sponsor (only praise), but this was not like that at all
