You telling me, hell go to a bookstore and try to find some recipe books. Oh I am talking about a new book store. I do can, dry, and freeze a lot of stuff each year. Quick edit, main reason I got into it was my great grandmother who went through depression and stuff really pounded saving and such into my head as a kid.



Space is never an excuse. The equipment is pretty multi functional. Easy to store empty jars and rings when finished with product. So that just leaves getting the produce. That is what farmers markets or trips to farms are for. There is no way in hell I could grow everything I use on my small plot of land. Sure I grew my peppers this year. However I bought my strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes (didn't have enough, never do), fruits, and such all from farmers markets and or farms. I just do it in batches and when each is at peak of season. Takes me a day or two maximum per batch, one of those days is typically shopping for the produce, cleaning stuff, etc.

I just rather see a whole bunch of jars of assorted vegetables, fruits, pickles, and such in my pantry instead of a bunch of cans bought from the local supermarket. Same can be said of my dehydrated soup mixes, frozen food items, and such. Saves me a crap load of cash and I know damn well it is a lot healthier for me.


Cooking is one of my main passion's. Then I have several hobbies that help take my mind off of the stress from work, or I guess help refresh my mind. Like all of the bars of soap around my house I and the wife have made.
