so for 1 of my domains - seductiveteengirls.com which has 40 videos listed on Yahoo Movies they got a total of 334 views (the movies). So that ate up bandwidth and made me no sales. That's just for 1 domain.

Free advertising? Well, I've made $0 from this so called free advertisment. I'm sorry to say, but a surfer will not be paying attention to whatever link is on the right hand side. he/she is looking for porn and they will search the yahoo movie database till they get something that will get them off. Why the hell would they bother clicking a link to the source when they have access to 1000's of videos for free and easily accesible? They are costing us $ plain and simple. I don't care if bandwidth is cheap. That's not the point. Would you be ok with someone stealing gas from your car all the time just because the gas is cheap? no matter what the cost of bandwidth is they are still costing us $ and in return we get fuck all. If the videos that they have listed that are on my domains were no listed on any mgos I would delete them all or make a redirect that would redirect yahoo's users to a massive popup hell. Hey, if I won't be making money than I should be able to fuck with them.

watermark your videos. it's traffic man. if someone is really interested in your content, they will visit the url. i understand it fucks MGPs. well, maybe it was a bad idea for our industry to start giving away everything for free to begin with. but it's what people demand and want. so you have to adapt the way you do business and make it work.

it does suck. MGP galleries are one of the main methods of promotion for paysites. i don't wanna see this stop anytime soon.

this does help , but they have all the videos also recorded from archive.org , so ieven if you remove the videos , they will still be displayed eventually from archive.com ( do a search for "shemp" and look at the first result.

Basically, all it does is to check the referer, and if it matches Yahoo's "rape URL", then it simply changes the output in the frame to read "Please click here to continue" - which then opens your site in a new window; otherwise, if the referer is null or of another site, it simply displays the content.

It's not the greatest solution, but it's better than nothing.

That's actually a clever idea! However it has one serious flaw. 20% of surfers send a blank referer al the time. Those surfers would go into a loop of the page with "Please click here to continue". A work around for that would be to set a parameter in the url and just pray that Yahoo would not send directly to that URL instead.

Ah, you see that's where it's clever. If the referer is blank or anything other than Yahoo's "rape URL", it simply shows the site's content - but if the referer is Yahoo's "rape URL", then it shows the "Please click here to continue".

Of course, if Yahoo change the host segement (whatever.yahoo.com) of the "rape URL", you'd have to change the coding slighty; and if they sent it directly to you then that means it was a direct call to your page, hence it cannot be in a frame - problem solved.

sometimes it even claims the video is coming from somewhere completely different it will say "playing from xxxx.com , but really its being played from vvv.com

They claim the site the video is coming from is the site that originally linked th video not the real domain ( so basically they reward hotlinkers.. )
