Russia took over your country and wiped out a considerable portion of the population. I would think you wouldn't be so quick to forget that, particularly in the middle of a conversation about Russia invading Georgia. Joining NATO would at least ensure that never happens again. It's not like you can do anything to stop them from fucking with you if they wanted to. It's not like the Ukraine has even come remotely close to getting their shit together in the last decade and a 1/2 in terms of reigning in corruption, normalizing the business/legal climate etc. I have to wire massive amounts of money to the Ukraine every month and something that simple is just as ignorant, retarded and difficult today as it was 10 years ago.
Everyone is always so full of this wonderful sense of national pride until someone shows up and starts slaughtering people and you can't do anything about. The President of Georgia has/had a lot of support to go after Ossetia... lot of good that did him. The world is now watching Georgia get pounded into oblivion...
but hey... at least they didn't "join NATO like a bunch of prostitutes" right?

Very easy. First of all: Georgia has no oil (i.e. every country has a few drops of it even Japen I believe), so why the hell Russians will scream "No blood for oil"? Now about "illegal war". Russian peacekeepers were in Georgia accroding to the international agreement which is 100% LEGAL. They were killed by regular Georgian army. And now Russia just dois it job: protecting its people in South Ossetia and its peace keepers which is also 100% LEGAL. So why Russian should scream "illegal war"? Sorry, but I can't get your point.
Following your point there certainly should be lots of demonstrations in California like: "take a way this fuckin' sum from our sky!" and "no palms in out city!"

Believe me if Russians have the problem THEY REALLY care, they don't bother to go on demonstrations. E.g. the case when Russian government has forbidden all left-sided cars. This "law" was been re-called very soon because of mass demonstrations of Russian car-owners. There are lots of other cases like that. Russians are always ready to protest but ONLY IF THEY CARE about something, or if they CONSIDER SOMETHING WRONG. A war in Georgia is not such a case - believe me. if you ask the ppl on the streets, 90 of 100 will say they support it, but if you ask do they really care, I guess only few will say "YES".

Western media does show a lot of things that happen in Russia but for some "unknown" reason it doesn't show some very important details. Course after that some brainwashed persons like pocketkangaroo don't bother to make very insulting and absolutely stupid statements about freedom of speech in Russia.
It's not that easy to explain such children of mcdonalds, fox and cnn, that they are being feed with a spoiled product. Perhaps this is why it looks like "it seems I'm borderline mental or have a nervous breakdown". I'm almost alone here who's trying to show that there are many other colors besides BLACK and WHITE.

I'm not a investigator, so it's not a question to me. But I guess because of money. Everything happens because of it.
Just because thousands of journalists are "anti-government" as you call it. There are too many newspapers and websites that criticize our government. Actually almost everyone has criticized the government for something. You may be surprised, but if you'd read my posts on Russian webmaster boards you'd see what I wrote about the government - lot's of Russian webmasters consider me non-patriotic one LOL Why I'm doin' this? Simple because I have a lot of claims to our government. But these are the things I really care about, so I'm complaining about them.
As for the killed journalists... Many of them have been killed because they had relations with some shady people. For example, some strange "magic" happens to all the journalists who were working for Berezovsky. And not only the journalists, even his "best friends" are dieing for "unknown reasons". Everything what's related to shady business and money is very dangerous, you know?
And there is nothing strange that some one of those of "anti-government" journalists are doing with shady people. Sometimes they die... But once again, there are 1000's of journalists that write anti-government articles but do not mess with shady people and they are still alive. Even mentioned above Mr. Limonov, has his own ani-government newspaper "Limonka". You can even read it online: http://limonka.nbp-info.com/, or check his http://nazbol.ru/ - use Google translator and you'll see it's very anti-government. Furthermore, his party openly calls to a revolution. So what? Has he been killed? Has his site been closed?

BTW, there is a serious suspicion that Yushchenko wasn't poisoned. Some people (one my friend who is a skin doctor) say that Yushchenko has a leprosy.
