Something sounds a bit off here.
If his friend is really his "friend", then there shouldn't be any problem with him telling her to cut that shit out.
If she doesn't like it, then she can piss off. End of story.
There are some people in the world who like to be doormats. He either needs to stop being one or cease whining to others about something he can solve with one conversation.
I personally have no qualms telling my friends the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth about their assified behavior at times...and I expect the same in return. That's what friends are for eh?
