Do you think being a Playboy Playmate or a Penthouse Pet is as big an honor as it used to be years ago? From what I've been told from girls who've been both - it's not really that big a deal. Thoughts?

Penthouse Pet... definitely not. With the exception of a handful most of them are scary looking in person.
Playmate doesn't matter as much, but it will still get a girl in the club free and put a billionaire on her arm.I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

Before the internet when the only way a model got published was in a magazine and there were only 12 playmates a year and they were all natural and thousands and thousands tried out for that position I'd say that becoming a Playmate put the girl in a very elite group. Today I think it has become much more diluted and now a girl off the street can make herself an internet super star.
As for Penthouse I've always felt that it was for girls that couldn't make it in PlayboyComment

Good question Dean! I'm willing to bet that the answers will vary depending on 1) the individual and 2) their point of view. Those that aren't either will most likely hate. Pets/Playmates that have marketed themselves successfully will swear that it was a big deal and those who went nowhere with it will say it didn't matter as much.

Playboy Playmate is still a big deal - Penthouse Pet is next to nothing - when they're making Pets out of girls like Charlie Laine who has been in the industry for years they have taken away anything that was unique and special about the Pet centerfold. A Penthouse Pet should be a model never seen before and better yet a girl who won't be seen again anywhere else but Penthouse - that's tough to do today because there are so many other opportunities for a girl to make money so you'd need to pay the Pets big $$$ to keep them exclusive. Playboy Playmate get $25,000 and have to sign a 2 year exclusive contract - lots of girls won't take that deal today.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. In my opinion, Penthouse Pet means nothing. No imagination and nothing is different. I feel that what they have going on over at playboy these days with all of these newer sites is going to of course not make "being a playboy model" such a big deal but in the long run, make playboy overall more money like they have been online wise so far! Conversions are so much better with all there new sites. They took a different avenue rather then dealing with shooting the same girls over and over. People forget that playboy has been around for so long that in order to keep the strength of the name, they needed to go outside of the box like they have! I commend everything they are doing. I have not seen a playboy in a few years magazine wise but I stopped looking at them because nothing was new. Not even the women. If they came out with magazines for all these new sites, or made the playboy issues thicker with pages of the newer girls and sites, I think there numbers would blow up magazine wise!
