It wouldn't surprise me if she was forced out to make way for younger more controllable justices. The way things have turned out over the years it wouldn't surprise me.

Unless we are facing nuclear attacks, total apocalypse or some big conspiracy, then I don't think an attack on democracy would lead to the death of democracy, and dictatorship. Civil war(s) would come first.

This country was built on division. That is why the word United is used. It will always be divided but rest assured on one thing and one thing only...History will simply repeat itself, it is the nature of the beast. When Canada elected a right-wing government last year, I just had to wonder what the U.S. did to influence the election. I seriously doubt they were able to keep their hands off entirely.

I seriously think that a lot of our freedoms are being taken away (over time) in the western world because of the potential thread on China.

Think about it, as it stands at the moment not everyone would fight if there was a war. Quite a percentage of populations in western societies would simply refuse to fight which would be pretty concerning if China did decide to start a war in the future because you can't win

I remember vividly sitting in front of the tv that afternoon and that special report icon flashed across the screen and Walter Kronkite said those famous words.
