The death penalty _SHOULD_ exist in any country. Tax dollars are _wasted_ feeding, clothing and sheltering people who are not worthy of such things. The money spent in prisons around the world housing murderers, pedo's and rapists (The only 3 crimes I can think of off the top of my head that warrant death, I'm sure there are dozens more) must be in the gazillions of dollars.

Some people say let them suffer, let them pay their debt, blah blah blah. I'll tell you what. You kill them, it's over for them, it's over for you. Your taxes (especially in the states and other countries with the "death penalty") are spent housing people who don't deserve to live. You believe in god? I don't, and I'll tell you what, it's a fuck of a lot cheaper to burn and bury a murderer than it is to house, clothe and feed him for the rest of his life, or to worry about when they might get out.


And for anyone who is shocked that they found the dead guy's meat in his stomach, are you really shocked? HE CHOPPED THE DUDES FUCKING HEAD OFF with a rambo knife. It's not religion... Religion was one of the main proponents of the death penalty, and many religions (i.e. Islam) still hold true that. Christianity has been forced to reinvent itself because society changed around it. It is the leftists (in the media, in politics, etc) who have moved many nations away from the death penalty.

They can label the person with the the dangerous offender act which is basically a true life sentence.

If everybody believed when you die that's it, _EVERY SINGLE FUCKING COUNTRY ON THE PLANET_ would have the death penalty. Why? Because as logical, free thinking adults, we come to logical conclusions. I got it wrong. The victim was the small guy. A 6 foot 200lb dude with a hunting knife against a 130 - 150lb guy who is asleep. Poor kid didn't stand a chance.

It doesn't affect me in the least bit, I get off the bus and those people might as well have just died since I'm not going to see them again or anything like that. And at the same time if I was getting stabbed I wouldn't expect anyone to jump in, I'd deal with it and/or die.

Often times a good samaritan steps forward and does what he/she feels needs to be done.

I'm not necessarily saying I'd have leaped to the defense of the victim on the Greyhound bus - and I'm not faulting the other passengers who didn't either. I wasn't there and weren't in their shoes at the time. But I know my mind would be racing with thoughts of how to help...and whether I'd act would depend on the circumstances and logistics of the situation.

I know what you mean, I'm just a selfish guy. That's what it comes down to, if it doesn't help me out then I want no part in it. If it's going to make things worse then I definitely don't want anything to do with it.

for what it's worth the death penalty is NOT cheaper than life in prison. Of course it should be, but keeping inmates on deathrow and the long-winded appeals process make it more expensive in general.

My main gripe with the death penalty is that innocent people do die under this system.
